How to Host the Perfect Galentine's Day Celebration at Home with Friends

Including details on inexpensive Galentine's Day ideas, decor, goodies and fun in-home activities.

The concept of Galentine's Day has gotten increasing more popular as some women are choosing to celebrate Valentine's Day with friends. This special occasion is a great way to reconnect with your tribe, try a little hosting and make fancy drinks!

Let's chat about how I set up and executed my Galentine's Day meet up right in my home, and give tips on how you can too!

Getting Started: Decor & Ambiance

We all know that Valentine's Day is about keeping the color theme and our local stores make that so easy. Target and Dollar Tree were my go-to spots for simple decor such as balloons and table decorations, with Target's $5 section (usually located at the front of the store) being a gold mind. Decorations for your Galentine's Day do not have to be expensive or super fancy unless you'd like them to be!

Another way that I set the tone was by letting my girls know to wear pink pajamas and I purchased pink fluffy socks from Amazon just to add a little razzle dazzle. Other purchases that you can gravitate to in order to add more razzle dazzle could be flowers, candles, pink decorative lights, ribbons/bows, party favors and matching pajamas.

Snacky-Snacks: Goodies & Grub

There's literally no party without food and drinks! Galentine's Day is the perfect time to experiment with fun and cute drinks that you find on the internet, the same drinks you've had screenshots of for months. I purchased some pretty champagne glasses from Amazon, as well as extras such as cotton candy (to melt into the drink), decorative ice trays and edible glitter. I decided to cook a seafood pasta for my friends at their request, but ordering out is always an option or keeping it simple with a snack table variety.

More options for goodies & grub include a hot chocolate bar, a candy bar, tacos, catering from your favorite restaurant, a popcorn station, s'mores, a fruit tray, DIY charcuterie boards, pastries and much more!

Make it Fun: Activities & Games

Brainstorming what we'd do for entertainment was honestly one of my favorite parts of the planning. I split my studio apartment into sections for different activities such as painting, card games/charades, and a "girls chat" video segment for my Youtube channel where we answered pre-written questions and gave our opinions on various topics. Having different options for activities made the night even more fun and we kept a good flow, hopping from section to section.

Other activity options include Scattergories, "This or That" (Valentine's Day edition), board games, drink making competitions, homemade photo booths, cupcake decorating, bingo, jewelry making and more!

That Friend Time is SO Worth it!

Don't wait another year to enjoy this time with your tribe. I can honestly say that our Galentine's Day has become a core memory for my friend group and I plan on doing it again, switching up decor, food and activities each time. I hope that you choose to spend some time with your tribe and celebrate this Valentine's Day as well!
